Expertise

Helen has experienced trauma and forged a pathway towards psychological safety, both personally and professionally.

Personally; With close family connections to a holocaust survivor, Helen became curious about psychosocial and epigenetic transmission of trauma. This fuelled her research and experience of evidence-based approaches to support healing.

Professionally; Leading teams of specialist health professionals in teaching hospitals in Europe and Australia, Helen experienced the paradox between provision of excellence in healthcare, by health professionals that struggled with self-care.

Driven by compassion to create a better health system, both for those that provide and receive care, Helen has drawn upon cutting-edge research in neuroscience, evidence-based psychotherapy and on-the-ground insights, to create her THRIVE Psychological Safety Practice. Whilst this practice was inspired within healthcare, the principles can be applied to any workplace setting. Helen’s expertise is working with diverse stakeholders, integrating co-design methodology in complex, dynamic entities including peak professional bodies, government agencies and healthcare services to identify and address barriers to workplace psychological safety, to drive better wellbeing, performance and outcomes.

Purpose

Helen’s vision is to create psychologically safe workplaces where humans THRIVE®. With escalating rates of stress, fatigue, burnout, and mental ill health, there has never been a more important time to revitalise leaders, teams and workplaces.
